This Savage manufactured first variation receiver is for the model 1903 slide action rimfire rifle and is in good condition exhibiting a brown patina with some scattered spots of rust and traces of original blue finish in protected areas. This is the only part on the model 1903 rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transfered through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines.   (file photos)

Note: first variation receivers will have a lower tang that is straight lacking the slight curve at the rear most section and will be cut on the inner left side wall for the early variation ejector.
